This will change your current designs as components on your AVL are moved to lead-free by suppliers and could require testing of both old and new designs to ensure manufacturability and performance given the changes in the manufacturing processes. Finally, the transition timing of all these issues will be unique to your business requirements and situation. Although 2006 may seem to be an eternity, because of part purging and shelf time of your products it is likely that you will need to become compliant during 2005.
